How can the carbon footprint be reduced?
Carbon Footprint
The Carbon Footprint reflects the total greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions, quantified as CO2 eq (carbon dioxide equivalent), that are release to the atmosphere through the life cycle of a product or service.
The carbon footprint calculation, represents an indicator for organizations on how there activities impacts on climate change.
The carbon footprint identifies the GHG emissions sources of a product, service, or an entire organization, and helps defining goals, reduction policies, and initiatives for reducing costs, not only environmental but also financial.
Why you should calculate the CF?

Calculating the CF
Currently, there are different methodologies to calculate the carbon footprint.
There are specific guides like the PAS 2050, the Bilan Carbone©
from France, the ISO rules, or the GHG Protocol.
In Almerix, we suggest using the GHG Protocol, which is one of the most commonly used standards, and widely support. It has been developed by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and the World Resources Institute (WRI).
it covers the accounting and reporting of the GHG stated in the Kyoto Protocol: CO2, CH4, N2O, HFC, PFC and SF6.
This model accounst not only for the direct emissions of GHG, but also for indirect emissions. For instance, the emissions from external sources, as transportation and production of goods are aldo included.
